Products Condition Terminology

New – Refers to all brand-new sealed products. 

OEM – An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) product is fundamentally identical to a retail version, yet it is sold in bulk. It typically lacks the elaborate retail packaging, user manual, or included cooler (if relevant), and frequently comes with a shorter or alternative warranty. This results in a lower price, but it necessitates that the system builder manages customer support.

New Open Box – New products whose packaging will be unsealed.

Unboxed – Unboxed products refer to items that have been opened for reasons unrelated to defects or significant usage; they typically do not come with the original packaging.

Preowned Grade A – Grade A (Excellent Condition): These are the highest quality refurbished products, often described as “near-mint” or “like new”. They show minimal to no signs of previous use, with very faint marks or scuffs that are not visible during normal operation. This grade is ideal if aesthetic appearance is a priority.

Preowned Grade B – Grade B (Good Condition): These devices will have minor signs of wear and tear, such as light scratches, scuffs, or slight dings on the casing, but no significant damage like cracks or missing parts. The screen will be free of cracks or dead pixels, though slight scratching might be present. Grade B offers a good balance between condition and price.

Preowned Grade C – Grade C (Fair/Acceptable Condition): These products show considerable and noticeable signs of previous use, including more significant scratches, paint chips, or small dents on the body. While they may not be aesthetically pleasing, they are still fully functional and have passed all technical tests. This is the most budget-friendly option, best suited for users who prioritize cost savings over appearance.
